I think Orson Welles was right on War of the Worlds only Grapes of Wrath is really a science fiction story that would be revealed in a sequel and it was a fucking comet with fucked up alien fucking genetic material in its tail and it didn't hit Grover's fucking Mill fucking New Jersey it fucking hit the Oklahoma fucking dust bowl and infected the Okies who were already full of biological shame and who would go out at night and sort of howl at the moon except it is called gurhling where they roll their eyes back inside of their head and they make the characteristic gurhling sound called "gurhling" to convert all of the biological shame into  a stubborn and ignorant fucked up form of hubris from all of their cow and dog and animal fucking and always fixing and repairing tractors and everything using bailing wire instead of doing things right in the first place and the wheels of their minds never ever stopping from thinking of horribly dumb fucking bullshit stupid plans and schemes some dishonest. They are fucked.

And the alien material caused a shark dorsal fin affair potato chip like structure to grow in the right hemisphere of their brain that communicates with something in their left inner ear and they are more or as much alien in their behavior as they are human. 

So the Grapes of Wrath is really a science fiction trilogy and the second novel is completely science fiction and the 3rd novel is from before the entire thing happened and began and how they got infected back in 1938 by the alien DNA like substance and material that was in the tail of the comet to begin with.
